ABOUT
Moses Mabhida Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that was registered back in 2007 and it is 100% black-owned, and operated by more than 90% females with a national footprint. The organization was established by his granddaughter, Ms June Mbhalati who is the current CEO/Executive Director of the foundation, in memory of her grandfather for his works and sacrifices made during the liberation movement of South Africa in the apartheid era. The focus area of the foundation is to preserve the legacy of the great Moses Mbeki Mncane Mabhida and to make sure that his vision of breaking the cycle and turning the tide of intergenerational poverty through the introduction of community-integrated social programmes. The organization addresses the social and economic development challenges that are faced by the previously disadvantaged communities with a special focus on women, youth and children as the beneficiaries by providing developmental support programmes that are aimed at changing their lives.

VICTIM EMPOWERMENT
PROGRAMME (VEP)
The focus is on women and children who are victims of domestic violence/abuse, gender based violence (GBV) and sexual assault. We have programmes to empower and support victims. Our team consist of a social worker, auxiliary social workers, counsellors and volunteers.
THUTHUZELA
CARE CENTERS (TCC)
Sexual assault victims who come through the hospitals get our dedicated team which consist of a police officer, social worker, auxiliary social workers, counsellors and volunteers. When they arrive at the hospital they get legal and social support and assistance immediately.
